When I found Carl I had been dealing with the residual pain from a hip injury for over a year. While I had received temporary pain relief from chiropractic visits, physical therapy, and regular massage nothing seemed to last. That all changed after finding Carl. Within two visits the recurring limping and fairly constant pain from my hip were gone and have not returned, although I have definitely returned to Carl for help with other chronic issues. I am constantly impressed with his deep academic knowledge of the body, his intuitive grasp of what will most benefit me during a particular session, and last but not least, his real belief that our bodies can remember how not to be in pain. I cannot recommend Carl's unique blend of Structural Integration, Feldenkrais, and massage therapy enough.

Erin's knowledge of body movement, posture, and self awareness is extraordinary. Through Erin's guidance, I have been able to successfully implement a treatment regimen for chronic back pain. My back pain ranged from painful to debilitating on a daily basis for the last 10 years. It was also affecting my activity level and my general quality of life. I had tried physical therapy, various yoga disciplines, and stretching. Every time I would take a step forward, it would be thwarted by two steps backward due to shortcomings in how I was approaching my own rehabilitation. Over the course of four months, working with Erin, I have had little to no back pain and have largely been able to resume activities that I had nearly abandoned previously.

Eight months ago I was diagnosed with bursitis and arthritis of my left hip and arthritis of my left foot. I could not walk more than 1/2 mile without pain and sleeping was difficult. I missed hiking the hills. My Physician prescribed 2400 mg of Ibuprofen per day - who wants that! I tried physical therapy but that seemed to make it worse. Then a friend recommended that I find a Feldenkrais practitioner to work with. I have to admit that I was skeptical at first- How could these simple movements that Erin taught me alleviate pain? Today after six months of working with Erin I am ibuprofen free and yesterday I went for an eight mile walk with no pain!!! Feldenkrais has truly changed my life.

Erin,
I wanted to let you know the good news. Mom has been working on the breathing techniques you taught her. Last week when she went to the pulmonary doctor he said she no long needed to use oxygen during the day! Mom has been on oxygen day and night since a surgery she had last year. It has been very limiting, especially when considering air travel.
Mom, and her family and friends, really appreciate that you were able to help her free herself from the oxygen tank during the day. It's too bad the doctors don't ask that proper breathing be taught to their heart and pulmonary patients.

I have gone to Carl for over a year now for bodywork. After a car accident I had terrible neck and back pain. I went to a Chiropractor and received only temporary relief. Erin – You have taught me through your gentle prodding to go to my pain, pay attention, be curious about why I do what I do with my body and explore other ways of being. Your encouragement, excitement and just plain goofiness have taught so many lessons I apply with my own clients. On my first visit with the Rabkes, my instructor was Carl, my haunches,
thighs, and knees were taut, out of alignment, and mildly painful. Also
my shoulders and underarms were taut and tender. I am 66 years old and
that may be part of the aging process. Carl assisted me in visualizing
my inner self, weighing the left and right sides stresses and lightnesses.
His touch, very deft and light, aided in uncrocheting my overwrought muscles
and tendons. He also amazed me by his knowledge of the interconnectedness
of the human system manipulating the thigh tendons to uncreak my whole side
and ease the swing of my leg and release pressure on the patella. My body
is still reverberating the echoes of his assessments and instructions.
By Lesson 10, I was instilled with a greater sense of self and self control.
The CD exercises he provides are helpful in aligning the body and
creating its many choices of movement and stillness.

Carl and Erin have both been a very positive influence in my life. Early in my Tai Chi practice I had the opportunity to have them both as teachers. I still hear in my head , the manner in which they convey the Tai Chi principles. Calm and reassuring, making it ok for my legs to shake then burn and ultimately relax. Carl and his massage,....
