Women Embodied 2014: Presence, Joy and the Art of Befriending

Women Embodied 2014:
Presence, Joy and
the Art of Befriending
I’ve spent weeks and months going inward, listening to my instincts and to my teaching muse, getting clear on exactly what wants to come through for this offering for 2014 and I’m thrilled with what I’m discovering and creating.
I invite you to read on to explore whether you get a resonant “YES! I want to do that!” And if so – please let me know right away with a reply to that effect.
May I have the courage today
to live the life that I would love,
to postpone my dream no longer,
but do at last what I came here for
and waste my heart on fear no more.
– John O’Donohue

I’m deeply interested in

the transformation from fear to love

in all aspects of my life.

I’m interested in cultivating authentic presence

through movement and embodiment,

meditation, and inner life practices.

I’m interested in growing my capacity to experience joy, gratitude and really revel in all the goodness in this temporary life.

I’m interested in what I call the Art of Befriending – cultivating warmth and welcoming to all aspects of my inner life, as well as befriending the “others” in my life, and befriending life itself.

Are you?

“Perhaps all the dragons in our lives are princesses who are only waiting to see us act, just once, with beauty and courage.
Perhaps everything that frightens us is, in its deepest essence, something helpless that wants our love.”

– Rainer Maria Rilke

Through the many things I continue to learn and explore, right now these themes are very alive for me:

Presence:
Being courageously awake, being here for my life, being in authentic connection with myself, others and life itself.

Joy:
What Brene Brown calls the most challenging emotion for many of us to allow ourselves to feel. I find that’s so true! And so worth exploring.

The Art of Befriending:
Cultivating warmth and friendliness with all aspects of my life – inner and outer.

And of course the theme of being embodied as the authentic ground and powerful support for all these experiences.

This exploration is central in my life, my work, my spiritual practice, my education, my marriage, and my parenting.
I don’t claim to be an expert, but a highly motivated explorer – and I love sharing the helpful things I’m learning.
I also love being in a community of adult learners.

Though I happily take the role of facilitator for our time together, I’m quite clear that I’m a learner myself, and that there is immense wisdom in each member of our circle.

I’m so deeply grateful to have been introduced to a whole body of interrelated practices which support presence , joy and befriending, and I’d LOVE to explore them with you.

As my teacher Russell Delman said:

It is not the lesson or the image but the investment of love, potential, respect and possibility on the part of participant and teacher……..”

I bring a HUGE investment of love, potential, respect

and a profound reverence for possibility to this course.
Care to join me?

I find great inspiration:

  • In the company of amazing women.
  • In open questions which bring me into reflective consideration of how I’m living my life.
  • In a community of seekers who value openness, authenticity, respect, vulnerability, friendly support, and shared experience.
  • In the opportunity to cultivate authentic connections with other incredible women who may change our lives forever.
  • In simple, powerful practices which support our lives to open and blossom; blessing us and those whose lives we touch.

I’m thrilled to be creating this course, and look forward to the gathering of the perfect group of women who are called to join me.
Women who want to commit to this journey, go deep, and be playful (yay! playful!!) – together.

I’d so love it if you’d like to join me for this women’s circle.

I learned a lot with the wonderful group who joined me earlier this year, and I’ve been learning a ton through my own practice, studies and travels this year about what I’d like to include for 2014.

I’m also excited to be growing many other aspects of my work in the new year including many online offerings and virtual classes that will likely begin in February.

As I’m really growing my writing and my online offerings, I’m not sure if I’ll be offering a group like this again – so if you’re drawn, perhaps now is the time!

Grateful to be a part of your life…

With much love,

Erin
