Inhabiting Your Tallness
What would it be like if you didn’t have to constantly remind yourself to “pull your shoulders back? ” What if there was no inner grandmother, father, teacher, roshi…telling you to sit up straight?
When we feel we have to constantly manipulate ourselves in some way to be OK, satisfaction can be quite elusive.
Shlumping at the computer takes work.
Pulling yourself out of shlumping with your muscles takes even more work.
Uprightness is a sublime laziness, it is energy efficiency. It is what the wisdom of your skeleton was made to do in a field of gravity-to lift just like a tulip lifts to the sky and sun.
In this workshop we will bring warmth and curiosity to the myriad ways we habitually hold ourselves shorter than we are. The ways we use our muscles to do the job of holding us upright in a field of gravity, which is the effortless role of our bones.
As we discover how to release our unnecessary holding, lightness, ease and uprightness emerge as natural, effortless uncontrived side effects.
Cost is $50
