In this workshop we’ll explore presence through movement lessons and meditation practice. (Perfect especially if you think you can’t meditate.)
One of the many things we have loved about Embodied Life is that is brings together two central themes in our lives (which is really one theme :) the cultivation of embodied awareness through stillness and movement.
For years we have loved Feldenkraistrainings- working with these profoundly effective Awareness Through Movement lessons that help us to learn to return to a natural, graceful way of moving, help us discover and learn to gradually unravel the many ways our conditioning and habits get in the way of unfolding our intentions.
When doing these lessons in month-long immersions, we would often feel the need to just sit, to tap into the deeper currents of being, and to just be with all of the levels of shifting and changing.
We also recognized how much the freedom of movement and breath, the releasing of the ways we compress ourselves, benefited our sitting practice, bringing more comfort, ease and vitality to our sitting.
What continues to inspire us is how much the cultivation of presence through movement and stillness compliment each other, and how each has such powerful benefits.
In this day-long workshop, we will explore a series of wonderful Awareness Through Movement lessons with brief periods of sitting practice, embodied self-reflection, and other guided practices to cultivate the states we most value in life.
This workshop is open to all, and does not require any experience with movement or meditation. We’d love to have you join us.
