“It’s not happiness that makes us grateful but gratefulness that makes us happy.” – Br. David Steindl Rast

The quickest way to make God laugh is to tell him your plans.

My best friend during junior high and high school spent her early years in Texas, and I think that’s why she was a fount of creative snappy sayings I’d never heard before. One I never forgot (and in fact remember often) is this:

The quickest way to make God laugh
is to tell him your plans.

Ain’t it so?

Well, last week’s newsletter was never completed because, well, I had plans… And my little Mesa and life had other plans for me. Ahem. And so, no newsletter.

I was excited to write to you and sing the praises of my beloved Carl – my dearest friend, my business partner, my co-adventurer in parenting and the life path, and my beloved sweetheart. We celebrated Carl’s 40th birthday last weekend with friends and community and it was wonderful. I’ve known him for 17 years, and I just gotta say, he keeps getting better with age. I’ve never seen anyone so happy to turn 40. :) So I’ll just settle for singing his praises today. Perhaps I can use a snappy word probably invented by someone from Texas. Awesomesauce. That’s my babe. I can’t help but include a beautiful photo of him recently taken by our dear friend and amazing photographer Kim Indresano. Check out her beautiful website here. Ain’t he cute? You can just tell what an awesome human being he is, can’t you? So bright. So kind.

He was recently featured in the glossy magazine of his alma mater – Skidmore College in upstate New York. I copied the article about him below, in case you’d like to read it.

Tonight I’ll be teaching a class on Freeing Your Neck (a new lesson I’ve never taught before, which has me super excited! And has my neck feeling goooood.) I’ll be at Pinnacle for class at 6:30 and I’d love to see you there.

And don’t forget to mark your calendar for our last Feldy immersion of 2012 – Oct. 27-28 on the wonderful theme of Embodied Essentials: Ground, Center and Breath. We can’t wait!

Wishing you a wonderful day, delighting in that graceful dance with the plans you have for yourself, and the plans your destiny has for you….

If you’d like to read the article about Carl from the Skidmore Scope magazine go here and you’ll find him in the section called “Patient by Patient” pages 26-27. :) I’m a proud wifey.

We'd love to give you a gift.
